, Moen-jo-daro was discovered in 1923 by an English archeologist John Marchall. The "city in mud" is in Larkana. It witnesses the most sophisticated and advanced living standard of life of early peoples of Sindh some 5000 years BC! The beautiful bricks used, well spread network of drains, establishment of public baths, arrangement and size of rooms and houses per family, use of floor bricks and system of wells-water supply are un-parallel examples of Sindh's civil life of that time. It was a time when other civilizations like Babylon and Sumerian were sleeping deep into darkness of ignorance of such. Sindh was Europe of that time.
Lakhiyan jo Daro (Mound of Lakha) has been discovered recently in 2009 by archeological department of Pakistan. This mound is at the bank of River Indus at near Sukkur-third biggest city of Sindh. The discoveries were remarkably astonishing. There ws discovered bangles and some other domestic items made of glass which are estimated to be 9000 years old! This raises the eyebrow over the reality of industrial setup long ago in Sindh when the world was using leaves to cover their bodies. The pottery discovered shout about the marvel of Indus civilization. It almost shuts all the claims of rest of the civilizations of world to be advanced.
Thatta is another important city that contains many signs of great Indus Civilization. The Graveyard of Makli is Asia's largest. It is said it is some 2000 to 1500 years old. Several of Sindhi brave fighters are buried in here. The Badshahi Masjid (mosque) constructed by Shah Jahan- second great Mughal kinf after Akbar the great. There is also a fortress built by the same king. The tomb of great Sindhi tribe Samo leader Jam Tamachi and his beloved wife Noori is also in Thatta. The city was of great value during Arab rule. Its Arab-Made town Mansurah was a centre of international learning. There are still marks of city Bhanbhore which was destroyed by Alawal Din Khilji during his attack on Soomras the then rulers of Sindh.
The city of Hyderabad has as great importance in terms of Sindhi culture as Larkano has. This city has vast history of political instability. It was capital city of Kalhorahs and Talpurs from 16th century to the mid of 18th century when British captured it in 1843. Its old name was Neroon Kot. The fort (Kot) is still stands witness of its power and prestige. The tomb of Mian Yar Mohammd Kalhoro is also there. The city is said to be the only city that has signs of Hazrat Ali's feet conserved since his visit to it in 630s.
