Pakistan; a state rich with resources but poor people
Pakistan is the country that has been titled with "a rich country with poor nation". This is all because the natural and human resources at hand with Pakistan are rusting. The country has been suffering from poorest political governance and worst martial laws. These have put the country in the bottom of poverty and insecurity. 50% population is on the poverty line and 30% under it. Unemployment, inflation and economic instability have impacted hugely. The life has become miserable. The PCI (per capita income) is 70$ per month. The social and offensive crime has increased. The literacy rate is below 50%. Unemployment is 70% of total population.
Economic Resources
Pakistan is rich with natural resources. The land of pure people is filled with all types of fossil fuels. There are more than 200 oil plants which are operating across the country. 2000barrel is the daily generation of petrol from them which is not enough for the daily consumption of 60000 barrels! The country has to import the remaining on huge prices. The govt provides the oil on subsidies which puts burden to the national Exchequer. There are more than 30 purely gas plants which generate enough gas to the demand of the nation. There are many being discovered every a month especially in Sindh province.
The country has been gifted with huge black gold reserves in Sindh and Balochistan. It has been estimated that the country can meet its energy needs for 300 years from Tharr coal if properly managed and utilized. Many Foreign Direct and Indirect Investments are interested to invest in this coal production and generation of energy and employment. Many MoUs were signed with Chinese, German and Italian companies by previous government but the recently in power political party is in a different mood to get other companies in. Proper utility of them could bring prosperity and peace in the country.
Pakistan possesses huge mountains of metallic minerals and non-metallic minerals. Chromite, bauxite, gypsum, copper, best quality of marble and tiles, rock salt etc. are found almost in all mountains of KPK, Balochistan and Sindh. The Kheerthar range of mountains contains more comfortable and cooler than others in the international market. Balochistan has mines of precious minerals like gold and silver also. The annual production of Copper is 16,000 Tones, Gold = 1.5 Tones and Silver = 2.75 Tones. The annual production of rock-salt is 1300tonnes, of gypsum 358 thousand tonnes, marble 586 thousand tonnes.
